Centric Vices

Centric vices have equal clamping movement in both jaws.

This means the centre of the vice is always the centre of the workpiece regardless of the size of the workpiece.

Centric vices are often used on 5 axis machines

but they are an excellent alternative to a chuck on a 4th axis.
